They sound beautiful and are beautiful to play. This beauty comes from the "Hawaiian Time" way in which they are built. All the ukuleles that we carry are of the highest standard of Hawaiian ukulele making, these are quality instruments that are made by professionals who have dedicated their lives to the art of making beautiful instruments.

We believe that the best way to buy any musical instrument is to go to the store personally, feel and listen to the instrument, and make decisions based on your gut instinct.
But as Hawaii is one of those far away places that is out of the reach of many, we offer our online shopping.
We take great care in sending only the highest quality gear to our customers.
Each piece is carefully inspected for cracks, blemishes, and quality problems before we send it off, be assured that you are getting the highest quality of our current stock every time you make a purchase with us. For those of you that can make it to our store in Waikiki, we encourage you to come to our shop, take a free lesson, take a hard look at all of the ukuleles on our walls, and make the choice for yourself.

Our store already is highly acclaimed in Japan, where ukulele is extremely popular.
Almost all of our customers have been very satisfied with the products that we have shipped to them. As we do take great care in the selection of our ukes especially for our internet customers, we will not accept returns for wood coloration, sound, finish quality, or small dings that can occur during shipping.
In the case that the ukulele has suffered damage that has rendered it unplayable or handicapped (this has not happened, yet...), we will gladly refund the full cost of shipping and items purchased. As long as you notice us whither one week after you receive items.

How to Pay
US Postal Money Order-There are two ways to pay.
Either with credit card or postal money order.

For us to accept your payment by money order, it must be from a US Post Office Official Money Order.
In the "Pay to" area of the money order, please write "Ukulele PuaPua".
If there is an address box, please write "2490 Kalakaua Ave. #19B Honolulu, HI 96815".
Upon receipt of payment, we will send you your ordered items.

Credit Card-We accept most major credit cards.

Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges
  1. All returns and exchanges must be made within 7 days of the item reaching your care.
    We absolutely will not accept refunds or exchanges passing this 1 week period. This same rule applies to holiday gifts and birthday presents as well.
    Merchandise must be returned in original condition.
  2. Any return, exchange, or refund being made by the customer for any reasons other than craftsmanship defects or shipping damage must pay the shipping to send it back to us. This cost will not be refunded.
    If the product is defective or has been damaged during shipping, we will gladly return all money to the customer.
    Note that defective means anything that has crippled the playability of the instrument. Fret intonation is not considered a defect as an ukulele is an instrument with a fixed saddle and non-adjustable neck, intonation can vary from uke to uke, we cannot guarantee any ukulele to have perfect pitch.
  3. All ukuleles returned to us must be packed and sent back to us with the same care that we give when sending you the instrument. It must be mailed via EXPRESS MAIL at the US Post Office.
    The POSTMARK DATE must read no later than 7 days more than the day you received it at your house. As all packages have a tracking number, we will be aware of the exact date that the package reached your hands.
  4. Only when all of the above 3 rules have been complied to will we give you a refund or exchange.
    Please be careful, we do not want to turn our customers down for a refund or exchange, the rules are in place to protect our customers and us from fraud, frivolous shopping, and theft.
    This keeps the price of our ukuleles low for everyone and saves our staff the trouble of making time consuming refunds every time someone simply "changes their mind". Music is a commitment, and we appreciate your understanding and your help in assisting us to run a legitimate business.

How We Pack
We pack our ukuleles as if they are very fragile and we do this in two different ways.
If you are sending us a return, please follow these instructions when packing your return.
  1. After placing the ukulele in a case, we secure it so it doesn't move within the case, then we wrap with several layers of bubble wrap.
  2. If no case is purchased, we cover the ukulele with non-scratch wrapping, then we place it in a cardboard box and secure it so it doesn't move.
    After that we wrap with several layers of bubble wrap.
    After each of these processes, we cover the complete package with brown postal paper and secure it with US postal service approved tape.
    After that we wrap it with tape indicating that the package is fragile and must be handled with care.

About Repairs
After a week has past, pretend your ukulele gets stepped on, or you break a back brace. What do you do now?
You can bring it to your local guitar shop for repairs, and repairman who knows guitars can most likely fix an ukulele. But before you do that, please check with us to see if any repairs could be covered by the manufacturer warranty.
All manufacturers have different warranties, but most are a standard 90-day limited.
But some manufacturers offer lifetime warranties on defects. If you cannot find satisfactory repairs in your area, you may send the ukulele to us to get it repaired for you.
All shipping charges plus repair charges are incurred by the customer in any such case.
Please take very good care of your ukulele and it will take care of you.

NOTE: When sending us the ukulele, please send it with great care.
Ukuleles are fragile and we will not be held responsible for damages accumulated during shipping.
We are glad to help you in getting your ukulele repaired for any reason, but repairs can be expensive so be sure to practice "defensive playing" and do not play "Rockstar" with your several hundred dollar hand-made ukulele.

For customers living outside of the state of Hawaii, there is no sales tax on any item.
For Kama'aina living in Hawaii there is 4.712% sales tax.
But this can be offset by your 10% Kama'aina discount!
